The Artist
Ari Fuller studied metaphysics before turning to fine art, a foundation that continues to shape the symbolic depth of his practice. His work spans two distinct yet interconnected mediums: large-scale paintings on gold-gilded panels and plique-à-jour enamel jewellery. Each medium extends his exploration of beauty, awe, and the sacred, balancing material refinement with mythic and symbolic resonance.
In his paintings, Ari uses sgraffito upon water-gilding techniques to reveal layers of meaning, creating luminous surfaces where figures and landscapes emerge out of tonal matrices, patterns, and fields of gold. These works combine symbolic realism with surreal compositions, presenting narratives that are at once personal and universal. His imagery often draws from archetypal symbols, ancient references, and the forest as a recurring motif of primeval depth, wonder, and revelation.
His jewellery practice echoes this sensibility in miniature form. Through delicate enamel wings and intricate castings, Ari reimagines artefacts that blur the boundary between adornment and icon. Across both jewellery and painting, he creates objects that feel timeless—part contemporary vision, part relic—inviting the viewer to encounter them as vessels of awe, mystery, and symbolic reflection.
